Dear Fellow N.C. ARES Operators:

As many of you may know, we had a glitch in trying to get this year’s Amateur Radio proclamation from the Governor’s Office issued due to a misunderstanding from the Governor’s staff as to what is amateur radio.  Thanks to some quick correspondence from ARRL CEO Dave Sumner and NC Section SM Tim Slay, they turned the situation around and got the proclamation issued.  Below is a copy of the text.

 If you or your club would like to order a copy complete with the Governor’s signature and seal, make a check payable to: Governor’s Office – State of North Carolina for $7.50 and mail your check along with a letter or note stating you want a copy of the Amateur Radio June 18-25 proclamation to:

 It will take up to 2 weeks for your copy to arrive in the mail.  Not only is the official copy of the proclamation good looking, but it makes a great impression to display it at Field Day, then present it to your county emergency management director to hang in your local EOC shack.  You can also use it to obtain a proclamation from your city council and county commissioners.
