| Wake County ARES serves the emergency communications needs of county
and state Emergency Management. But area Amateur Radio operators
provide communications for lots of non-emergency public service activities
as well. Most are in the form of walks, bike tours, races, triathlons
and even the Raleigh Marathon.
Participating in these activities is an excellent way to test your equipment
and practice operating skills. The event coordinators always need
more hams to help out.
